Our Teaching God is there
Hello Saints,
Tariffs, tariffs, tariffs! Enough Already! My Jehovah Jireh God Almighty shall supply all of my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus! I will not fear, nor be anxious for anything, but dwell in the shelter of my Most High God who declares the safety and security promised in Psalm 91. It doesn’t matter if taxes are 100%, my God shall supply all my needs because He loves me and values me…I’m His child and He’s my Father. Are you leaning on the promises of God? Are you believing the Word of God, over the word of man? We walk by faith not by sight! Relax and let’s not let Satan steal our joy!
Just finished reading Acts 16 – One minute Paul is experiencing the guidance of Holy Spirit, even having a vision (Acts 16:6-10), leading people to Jesus (16:14-15), casting out demons (16:18) and next thing you know, he’s stripped, beaten and thrown in jail (16:22-25). Was he mad at God, depressed, quitting, feeling sorry for himself? NO! He was praying and singing praises to God! Suddenly, in that moment of gratitude, the prison doors flew open, and people are getting saved and baptized, and he is encouraging a newly planted church (16:26-40). Eyes on the Lord! Eyes on His mission! Never deviating from his calling, nor allowing the circumstances to discourage him. Wow! What faith! What focus! What an example! The same as Jesus! Can we be like that? Absolutely! Because the same One who was in Paul is in us!
- “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret-- it leads only to evil.” (Psalm 37:7-8)
- To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me. (Psalm 25:1-2)
- You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. (Isaiah 26:3)
How is it possible to have such peace in the middle of a chaotic world? How does one overcome the anxiety found in daily living? I believe, obviously, that the answer is found in knowing the living God and His word. But even further, allowing God to teach us, by His Holy Spirit. Evangelicals have coined the term “a personal relationship with Jesus”. Just think about that for a moment… ‘personal relationship’. That means as the old song says, ‘He walks with me and He talks with me’. He is always willing to converse with me and teach me His ways. Psalm 25 has always been one of my favorites because in it is a picture of David asking God to “teach” him. Imagine God teaching us what we need to know, even as the Apostle John writes, “But you have received the Holy Spirit and He lives within you, so you don't need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what He teaches is true -- it is not a lie. So continue in what He has taught you, and continue to live in Christ.” ( NLT 1 John 2:27) This ought to be the desire of our heart in a world of uncertainties, filled with so many challenges:
- Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; (NIV Psalm 25:4)
- Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (NIV Psalm 25:5)
- Good and upright is the LORD, therefore, He instructs sinners in His ways. (NIV Psalm 25:8)
- He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. (NIV Psalm 25:9)
- All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant. (NIV Psalm 25:10)
- Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they should choose. (NLT Psalm 25:12)
How could anyone worship/serve any other god, when our God is so personal and caring that He would literally want to spend time teaching us how to navigate this life – the Lord is my Shepherd!!! I will continue to declare that I don’t care who is in power governing our nation, nor what he or she decides to do with the power they have been given. My hope, my trust is in the Lord! He will lead us through every trial. He is a supernatural God who over and over again, reveals that He is able to open prison doors, and make a way where there is no way. When my life is surrendered to His leading and not fretting because of what man may decide to do, my Father looks after all the necessities because He cares for me and you – so cast your cares unto Him.
- My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only He will release my feet from the snare. (NIV Psalm 25:15)
- Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. (NIV Psalm 25:20)
- May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you. (NIV Psalm 25:21)
Trust God! Allow Him to teach you. Rejoice with gratitude that we don’t walk this life alone, but He is always with us, a living Father God who teaches His children. If you let Him, He will even teach you how to manage your finances and save for difficult times, like He did with Joseph. God is faithful!
Peace!
